thank you pancake for making me the poet i am today <3

you’re walking away, so close,
yet so far,
my heart breaking with each step,
each scar.
you are crossing the stage,
about to fly,
while i watch from the shadows,
asking why.

loved you in silence,
hidden away,
too scared to say.
now you are leaving
& i cannot catch my breath,
the weight of your absence
feels like death.

you are moving forward,
chasing your dream,
while i hold onto something
that will never seem
to reach you, to touch you,
to make you see
that the world i wanted was just you & me

but inside,
i’ll love you still,
even as you leave,
without my will.
